He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cloyse Cheyney and Martha Cheyney (Gjertsen); his wife Marianne; his children, Denise Poling (Brett) of Pickerington, Robert Cheyney Jr. (Rhonda) of Uniontown, Rodney Cheyney (Kim) of Wadsworth and Rick Cheyney (Jodie) of Canton; his siblings, Marty Cheyney of Canton and Owen (Judy) of Massillon; and his grandchildren, Brooke Cheyney-Henry (Claire), Jessica Logothetides (Taylor), Brittany Duthrie (Matt), Trevor Poling (Michelle), Erin Guy (Aaron), Matthew (Christina), Jonathon (Laura), Natalie, Nicholas, Stephen and Samantha. He was also cherished by 8 great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a private service at a later date.
