He is survived by: his wife Alice "Jane" Coates (Zimmerman) of Harrod; his children, Kevin D. Coates (Regina) of Harrod and Denise E. McDaniel (Thomas) of Harrod; his siblings, Roger Coates of West Newton, OH, Thomas Coates (Joan) of Pemberville, OH and Rose Roberson (Bruce) of West Newton, OH; his grandchildren, Ryan Coates (Elizabeth), Alexis Tucker (Travis) and Derek McDaniel (Heather); his stepgrandchildren, Jessika Ackerman (Brian) and Alexis Winnings; his great grandchildren, Charlie, Henry, Simon Coates, Reagan and Karsyn Tucker; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ella and Eli Ackerman.
