He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. (Frances "Dixie" Powers) and Walter; his sons, Dan Joseph Powers and Jay Robert Powers; his brother James Powers; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Werner and Pete Morrow.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his children, Todd Powers (Kim), Mark Powers (Barb), Jennifer Morton (Bryan) and Tim Walker (Amy); his grandchildren, Josie Higgins (Tim), Stephanie Magee (Sean), Lee Powers (Amanda), Erica Minks (Bryan), Ian Morton (Hannah), Andrea Jones (Derek), Matthew Morton, Jason Morton and Will Walker; his great grandchildren, Corban, Beau, Tucker Magee, Madison, Elton Powers and Sophia Morton; and his sisters, Marlene Werner and Karen Morrow.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brater Winter Funeral Home - Harrison (201 S Vine St, Harrison, OH 45030). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (10010 Carolina Trace Rd, Harrison, OH 45030). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 12:10 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery (10357 New Biddinger Rd, Harrison, OH 45030).
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Memorial Fund or to Second Stride Inc., which is a retired thoroughbred rehab and rescue program.
