He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benson and Marcella Benson; his son Douglas Jr. Benson; and his siblings, Carol Ziegler, Marion Kraus, Shirley Mandary, Jim and John Benson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Benson; his daughters, Shelly Benson (Mike Majer), Joei Morgan (Brian), Kristin Benson and Kayce Daugherty (Mat); his grandchildren, Bryson Spaulding, Halen, Christopher Graycen Taber, Maximus, Samson, Alexander, Adeline Daugherty, Anthony and Olivia Morgan; his sister Marcie Horner; and his in-laws, Larry (Judy), Sheila, Beverly, Alma, Tina (Ken), Kimberly and Rod (Lisa). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brater Winter Funeral Home - Harrison (201 S Vine St, Harrison, OH 45030). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 1:10 PM at the Glen Haven Cemetery (10300 New Biddinger Rd, Harrison, OH 45030).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mike Rowe Works, supporting men and women who choose trade school.
