He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillis Bernard and Dora Blair Nolan of Harlan County; his siblings, Kathleen Hogg (Wendell), Wilma Frazier (Cameron), Lorraine Nolan, Gillis Bernard Junior Nolan (Beatrice), Grace Byles (Bill), Mabel Williams (Jack), Patsy Roberts (Bob), Mildred Hall (James), Enoch Nolan and Bobbie Jo Nolan; and his child Glenn Edward Nolan.
He is survived by: his significant other Gertrude Nolan; his brother David Nolan (Jeanette); his children, Michael Conrad Nolan, Patrice Gillespie (Dwight), Amy Ziegler (Mike), Lisa Ivy (Jason), Janelle Sowders (Jamie) and Wanda Eyre; his granddaughters, Jessie McFord (Kenn), Sarah Mac, Rachel Mac, Madolyn Ivy, Claire Ivy, Jaylee Sowders and Jaydyn Sowders; and his great grandchild Kennard McFord.
