He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hicks and Addie Hicks; his wife Catherine Hicks; his daughters, Donna Piercy (Everett) and Melody Hicks; and his siblings, Tillie Hall, Violia Johnson, Monroe Hicks, Voyd Hicks, Virgie Cowans, Clyde Hicks, Pauline Houston, Delzie Hicks, Eunice Bunner, Sarah Wilder and James Hicks.
He is survived by: his daughter Rita Hicks; his grandsons, Kevin Piercy and Shawn Piercy; his great grandchildren, Kevin Piercy and Rylee Piercy; and his close friend Edith Ball.
