He was predeceased by: his parents, Hosea L. Kelly and Erma R. Kelly (Chapman); his brothers, James H. Kelly and Burton E. Kelly; and his son-in-law Douglas M. Barth.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Smith; and his daughters, Debra Jean Barth, Cynthia Ann Holt (David) and Kathryn Sue Davidson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
