He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Schroeder and Gladys Schroeder (Rohdy); his former wife Jeanne Schroeder (Johnson); his wife Janet Schroeder (Meyer); and his siblings, Herman "Bud" Schroeder, Dorothy Hadley, Phyllis Apel, Mary Disbrow and James Schroeder.

He is survived by: his children, Deb Boysel, Vicky Borton (Randy), Thomas R. Schroeder (Wendy), Pete Schroeder (Caye) and Todd Schroeder (Jennifer); his stepson Tim Rettig (Esther); and his brother Pete Schroeder (Joann). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
