He was predeceased by: his father Harold Petersen; his son Joshua Hoffer; and his brother Kenneth Petersen. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Petersen (Hoffer); his children, Miranda Hoops (James), Melissa Carito (Aaron), Jared Petersen, Tim Petersen (Deanna), Justin Petersen (Zoey Messman), Christian Petersen, Cassandra Walbert (Matthew), Tyler Hamm (Cheressa) and Nathan Hamm (Sarah); his daughter-in-law Sarah Hoffer; his siblings, Howard Petersen (Joyce), Leon Petersen (Ginny) and Marcelle Caplinger (Leroy); and his sister-in-law Barbara Petersen. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to Henry County South Joint Ambulance District.

“We had the pleasure of working with Harold here at Gilson Screen for many years. He was an incredible fabricator and even better person. Though he has been retired for a few years now, his impact continues to be seen throughout the shop. He was a friend to many here and he will be greatly missed.
