He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nicely and Lena Nicely (Kiessling); his grandchildren, Jonathan Fifer and Kristina Fifer; his daughters-in-law, Jackie Fifer and Rachel Fifer; and his brothers, David Miler (Betty), Sam Nicely and Floyd Nicely.
He is survived by: his wife Rosella; his children, John Fifer, Jr. (Beverly), Richard Fifer, Michael Fifer (Tonya), Kellie Fifer (John Collins), Neal Fifer (Amy), Thomas Fifer (Natalie Dickendasher), Maria Fay (Chuck) and Georgeana Boston (Craig); his siblings, Ted Nicely (Phyllis), Bob Nicely (Beverly), Joan Gerken (Henry), Otto Nicely (Donna) and Sally Lee (Ferrel); and his sister-in-law Donna Nicely. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hamler Fire Department and EMS or the Henry County Humane Society.
