He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin E. Simpson and Agnes A. Simpson (Humphries); and his brother Claude Simpson. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Simpson (Jennifer) and Rebecca Ratliff (Mike); and his siblings, Elaine Rose (Paul), Paula Heitkemper and David Simpson (Darlene).
