He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Smedley and Marie Helen Smedley (Lucas); his wife Sherry Smedley (Ballew); and his siblings, Jerry Smedley and Bette Baker.
He is survived by: his children, Shajuana Thomas (Paul), James Smedley and Jerrett Smedley; his grandchildren, Tayler, Jillian, Ethan and Landen; his great grandchildren, Adrianna and Lacey; and his brother John Smedley.
