He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Johnson and Terry Weiland (Mullins); and his brothers, James Alan Johnson and Gerald Lee Weiland. He is survived by: his wife Pattie Johnson (Woodall); his children, Kayla Johnson (Bret Tobergta) and Nathaniel Kody Johnson (Kaylei Johnson); and his granddaughter Mila JJ.
