He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Grover Allen and Mary Ralphlene Peacock Smith; his close friend Michelle Booth of Hamden; his children, Nicholas Booth (Kayla) of McArthur, Amy Dawn Browning of Hamden and Summer Waugh (Wayne Bensonhaver) of Tarlton; and his siblings, Clifford Dowler (Sharon) of Jackson, Grover A. Smith Jr. (Marie) of Lavonia, Robert Smith (Valerie) of Lebanon, Paul Smith of Jackson, James "Jim" Smith, Mary Clevenger and Betty Rodrigues. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
