“She was “Kaye McCormick” when I met her in 1st grade at Powell Elementary school in Sept ‘53. We grew up in that small town. Kaye and I were close playmates during lazy summer days. Kaye’s friendship was steadfast. She was always a “strong” person. She had a wickedly cool sense of humor and a strong sense of respect and caring for others. Rest In Peace, my great friend.”

“Long ago, I was the new girl in the 8th grade class A city girl, I didn't quite fit in. Kaye was the only person who got my phone number, called and invited me to her house in September. At the 30th Reunion, Kaye was the one who made light of remarks from others that had made me uncomfortable. We were never best friends but did have a sense of connection. Kaye was the kind of person who was willing to stand by your side when no one else did. She will be missed. Beth Hagerty Dyckes”
