He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Harrison and Mary Melvina Monroe (Riley); his wife Marilyn JoAnne Monroe (Wade); his son Eric Monroe; and his brother Harvey Monroe.
He is survived by: his children, Tracie Monroe, Stephanie Boyd (Larry) and Kirk Monroe; his grandsons, David Semons (Monica), Trevor Awe (Vanessa) and Sam Boyd; his great grandchildren, Tarik Semons, Dante Ritchie and Jade Ritchie; his siblings, Steve Monroe (Leisa) and Joyce Neff (Wayne); and his sister-in-law Lavonne Monroe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
