He is survived by: his mother Patricia Herron (Smith); his children, Nicole Herron-Gilmore and Michael Lee Herron Jr.; his grandchildren, Kimber Dawn-Marie Herron and Chase Aaron Gilmore; and his sisters, Cindy Herron Rager and Mindy Herron.
