He is survived by: his wife Patti; his sister Bonnie; and his children, Craig (Tammy), William (Tina), Sheria (Steve), Luther II (Jill), David (Tiffany), Sara, Maggie (Michelle) and J. P. (Rachel). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.
