He was predeceased by: his parents, Allie and Mamie; his daughter Loretta Gail; and his siblings, Geraldine Adkins (Fred), Ilean White, Delbert (Donna) and Jim Higginbotham.
He is survived by: his wife V. Rosetta (Martin); his children, James T. Higginbotham, Virginia Sowards and Annette Rains (Bobby); his grandchildren, Travis Baisden (Carmen), Brittany Vizedom (Scot), Renae Higginbotham, Cecil Higginbotham (Sam), Kasey Anthony (Tyler) and Stephanie Sowards; his brother Boyd Higginbotham (Jo); and his siblings-in-law, Freda Higginbotham and Bernard L. White. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great children.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made either to the American Asthma Association or the American Cancer Association.
