He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred McCain, Sr. and Viva Owens McCain; his siblings, Phillip, Sandra and Marian; and his nephew Phillip Andre McCain.
He is survived by: his daughter Terri McCain-Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; his sister Jean Lynn (Ted Sr.) of Dayton, Ohio; his niece Reka Carter; and his close friends, Barbara Rhea, Joe Draughon, Fred Wells and Leon. He is also survived by five grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two "adopted" grandsons.
