He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie (Sutherland); and his siblings, Gerald and Elaine (Stauffer). He is survived by: his children, Denise Richard (Randy) of Greenwich, Diane Sheets (Jim) of Greenwich, Angie Hunter of Greenwich and Jim Hunter (Karen) of Cincinnati.
