He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Swartwout and Fern Swartwout (Campbell); his wife Betty M. Swartwout (Birt); and his daughter Barbara Ann Peeples. He is survived by: his children, Randall Lee Swartwout (Debra) and Beverly Pierce. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: 8 great-grandchildren: as well as many friends.

Memorial donations may be made the Brethren's Home resident activity fund.
