He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Weist and Bertha Weist (Bentz); his son Mark Weist; and his siblings, Clarence, John, Arthur Weist, Helen Lucas, Ardith Baxter, Dorothy Shandy, Edith Williams, Mary Winbigler and Martha Hunt.
He is survived by: his wife Elva E. Weist (McLear) of Greenville; his children, Nancy A. Weist of Greenville, Steven R. Weist (Annette) of Gold Field and David A. Weist of Greenville; and his brother Ralph Weist (Florence) of Athens.
