He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard H. Murphy and Bernice Murphy (Ungericht); his siblings, Francis Murphy, Susanne Murphy Hines and William D. Murphy; and also Sidney C. Horn.
He is survived by: his wife Francoise M. Murphy (Cheyrou-Lagreze) of Perigueux; his sister Patricia Durr (Jacque) of Fountain Inn; his nieces and nephews, Ellen Spinks (John) of Clayton, Leslie Blankenship (Jim) of Lewisburg, Monique Mijares (Frank) of Oceanside, Philip Murphy and Kelli Hargrave of Lubbock, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Ryan McClanahan (Jessica), Ben Spinks, Jennifer Garren, Derek Cain, Melissa Butler and Francois Mijares.
In lieu of flowers the family would desire memorial contributions be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 131 East 4th Street, Greenville, Ohio.
