He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bowers and Marietta Bowers (Hecker); and his sister Carol Bowers. He is survived by: his wife Janet Bowers (Furby); his children, Stacy (Christie Bowers) and Rhonda (Chadwick Oler); his grandchildren, AJ Bowers and Tressel Bowers; and his siblings, Emily (Dean Burk) and Jeff Bowers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Darke County Cancer Association.
