He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Shell (Shinn) and Everett Shell; the mother of his children Elizabeth Shell (Silvers); and his wife Betty Shell (Brown). He is survived by: his children, Paul "Jake", Becky Shell, Patricia, Tracy Aldora, April and Tanner Kirchner. He is also survived by his Step-Children and numerous Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
