He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Bryson and Martha Bryson (Witters); his wife Dian L. Bryson (Wellman); his father-in-law Leroy Wellman; his siblings, Larry Bryson, Vicky Grillot and Edith Hunt; and his brother-in-law Robert Wellman.

He is survived by: his children, Benjamin, Rebekah Bryson of Avon Lake, Lindsey, Andrew Cizmar of Avon Lake and Seth Bryson of Greenville; his grandchildren, Adalynn Bryson, Leviticus Bryson, Clara Cizmar, Amelia Cizmar and Norah Cizmar; his mother-in-law Jean Wellman of Greenville; and his siblings, Janet Mitchum of Texas, Connie Greene of Piqua, Deborah Newman of Ansonia and Eugene Bryson of Greenville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
