He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil C. Bennett and Edna F. Bennett (Brown); his siblings, Earl Bennett, Marilyn J. Duncan, Violet Bennett, Cashius Harry James Bennett and Drusilla Bennett; and his stepmother Cleo Maxwell-Bennett (McKinney).
He is survived by: his wife Laverne Bennett (Steensen) of Greenville, Ohio; his son Douglas Bennett (Michelle) of Ansonia, Ohio; his granddaughters, Elissa Ann Bennett and Emily Mae Bennett; and his sister Linda Hunt of Hartford City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
