He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Powell and Mary Powell Cassell (Swabb); his stepmother Elsie Weng Powell; his grandparents, Gerald Armstrong and Viola Powell Armstrong (Shuff); his siblings, Kathy Powell and Stuart Powell; his sister-in-law Debbie Thwaits Powell; his nephew Brandon Powell; and his stepsiblings, Tammy Cassell Vines and Robert Weng.
He is survived by: his siblings, Bethany (Jim Carres) of The Villages, Donna (Tom Beam) of Zanesfield and Ben (Tracy Cassell) of Kingsport, Tennessee; his stepfather Gerald Cassell of Gray, Tennessee; his stepsister Canda Weng of Augusta, Georgia; and his friends, Tom Hathaway and Teresa Green.
