She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Hayes and Daisy Hayes (Embry); her husband Ira W. Stewart; her sons, Roger E. Stewart, Walter J. Stewart and Jeffry A. Stewart; her grandson Walter Jackson Stewart Jr.; and her siblings, Gene Hayes, Rodney Hayes, Roger Hayes, Otis Hayes, Lucille Hickey, Juanita Reynolds, Temple Emerick, Helen Moore, Carol Parks and Rena May Hayes.

She is survived by: her son Otis A. Stewart of Versailles; her grandchildren, Dion Stewart (Cassandra), Debra Stewart, Dallas Stewart (Terri), Antrum Stewart, Vincent Stewart, Shirley Stewart Demsey (Sammy), Kim Stewart Oliphant (Jeff), Christopher Stewart (Allison) and Monica Stewart Anderson; and her sisters, Pauline Downing of Dayton, Geraldine Millington of Richmond, Bonnie Lou Cook of Richmond and Kathy Williams of Wisconsin. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
