He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Berner and Treva Berner (Miller); his wife Janet Carol Berner; and his sisters, Pat Lindemuth and Phyllis Lindemuth.

He is survived by: his children, Teresa (Don Rasmussen) of Findlay and Brad (Kim Berner) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Cullen, Erin Rasmussen, Clayton, Gisoo Rasmussen, Lance, Morgan Berner and Kami Berner; and his great grandchildren, Atleigh, Sawyer, Riley Rasmussen and Austin Berner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
