She was predeceased by: her parents, Denzel Chapman and Loretta Chapman; her husband Robert "Bob" Cox; her former husband James Lee Alderson; her stepdaughter Carolyn Jackson; her sister Joan; her brother-in-law Marv Matson; her brothers, Wayne D. Chapman and Raymond L. Chapman; her siblings-in-law, Marv Lambert, Linda L. Rude (Cox) and Janet E. Baker (Cox); and her granddaughter Melanie Cox.

She is survived by: her niece Charlene Lambert; her nephew David L. Rude; her son Jimmy L. Alderson of Nevada; her stepchildren, Randy Cox (Sandy) of New Madison, Doug Cox (Angie) of Greenville and Barb Baker (Gary) of Greenville; her sister Erma Lambert of Port Orchard, WA; and her brother-in-law Kenny Baker of New Madison. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a great great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any food bank in Darke County, per Carol's wishes.
