He was predeceased by: his parents, Otho Adrian and Ethel Mae Jay (Baumgardner); his siblings, Lloyd Jay, Raymond Jay, Carl Gene Jay and Betty Weider; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Warner, Paul Weider, Fred Miller, Paul Markland, Donald Miller and Edna Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Jay (Miller); his sons, Beverly (Lynn Jay) and Gilbert (Diane Jay); his grandchildren, Tanya (Jay), Blain Coby of Greenville, Daron, Tina Jay of Delaware and Todd R. Jay of Lewis Center; his great grandchildren, Gabriela Jay, Jayla Coby and Marcos Jay; his siblings, Gary Jay of Greenville and Evelyn Warner of Vickery, Ohio; and his sisters-in-law, Doris Miller of Missouri, Norma Jay of Troy and Treva Markland of Greenville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
