She was predeceased by: her parents, Ishmael Preston and Mallie Mae Preston (Turpin); her husband Francis "Jake" Compton; her son Michael James Penkal; her siblings, Harold Preston, Tom Preston (Vivian), Emma Griffith (Cliff) and Frances Johnson; and her pet Midnight.
She is survived by: her children, Tim Penkal (Linda) of Bradford, Kathy Gilmore (Donnie) of Eaton, Angie McFerran (Gary) of Greenville, Kimberly Penkal of Greenville, John Penkal of Greenville and Glenn Penkal of Michigan; and her sister-in-law Pat Preston of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
