He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence George and Mabel George (Garrison); his former wife Karen Shayne George; his sister Judy Wilson; and his nephew Kyle Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra George (Taylor); his children, Wendell "Skip" George (Steven Miller, II) of Atlanta, GA, Bradley George (Monica) of Greenfield, James Todd Cokonougher of Greenfield, Beth Miller (Mark) of Greenfield and Amy Cokonougher of Greenfield; his grandchildren, Meloney George, Garett George, Ashton Cokonougher Turk (Travis) and Austin Manbeavers; and his nephew Kenny Wilson (Brenda) of Washington, C. H..
