He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harold Chaffin and Ruth Margaret Weiland; his close friend Ethel Jenkins; and his sisters, Laura Tackett and Joann McGath.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Taylor (Jerod) of Greenfield, Paul E. Chaffin, Jr. (Hayley) of South Charleston and James Chaffin of Hillsboro; his grandchildren, Sammy Everhart, Cody Everhart, Ethan Taylor, Katie Sadusky, Hunter Chaffin, Aiden Chaffin, Sophia Chaffin, Memphis Chaffin, James Chaffin and Paul "Skeeter" Jenkins; and his brother Dave Chaffin (Rhonda) of Orient. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
