He was predeceased by: his parents, William Denison "Pat" and Kathryn Adair Karnes (Mercer); and his brothers, George Gilmore Karnes and Freddy Karnes. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Karnes (Wilson); his children, Rachel Ann Thomas (Jeremy) of Geneseo, Illinois and William Lee Karnes of Greenfield; his granddaughters, Bailey Reese Thomas and Jordan Leigh Thomas; and his siblings, Steven M. Karnes (Patti) of Greenfield and Nancy L. Karnes of Middletown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
