He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hayes and Janella Hayes (VanGorp); his wife Dorothy L. Hayes (Telleen); and his siblings, Virginia Ripperger and Harold Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Hayes (Cindy) of Greenfield and Janelle Fennel (Brian) of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Chris Hayes (Adriana), Laura Nair (Pradeep), Nick Fennel (Lindsay) and Nathan Fennel (Katie); his great grandchildren, Promise, Aalysah, Neriah, Silas, Nithara, Juliet, Emma, Luke and Eli; his brother Franklin "Jim" Hayes (Coleen); and his sister-in-law Martha Peterson (Paul). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
