He was predeceased by: his parents, Caleb Lawson and Edith Lawson (Walls); his wife Yvonna E. "Bonnie" Lawson; his son Richard L. Lawson; his siblings, Roger Lawson, Russel Lawson, Ken Lawson (Lina), Wayne Lawson, Elsie Shelton, Verna Holbrook (Curtis) and Joyce Lawson; and his brother-in-law Jesse Wyatt.
He is survived by: his children, James M. Lawson and Janie M. Lawson Rudy; his grandsons, Jaymie L. Rudy and Jason W. Rudy (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Abby Martin (Zach), Maggie Rudy, Gabby Rudy, Marrius Rudy and Iris Rudy; and his sister Patricia Wyatt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
