Ellis, Sr. and Virginia Ellis Massey (Wilson); his sister Patricia Reeves; his brother-in-law James Reeves; his stepfather Francis Massey; his stepsiblings, Frank Massey and Stephanie Abshear; his nephew Charles Staats; his aunts and uncles, Starling, Robert, Rodney, Dale Ellis, Ruth Gregory and Alyce Overbey; and his pet Roy.
He is survived by: his wife Janet K. Ellis; his children, Richard Ellis of Columbus, Donna Ellis of Ashland and Wendy Ellis (Jared Worley) of Greenfield; his stepchildren, Kimberly Beaumont, Tia Barnham (Adam) and Rich Buskirk; his grandsons, Casey Ellis, Clayton Ellis, Caden Ellis and Lewis Worley; his nephews, Timothy Fryer (Sharon) and David Reeves (Marci); his uncle James Wilson; his aunt Joann "Jannie" Moorehead; his stepbrother Norman Massey; and his close friend Mike Mt. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends.
