He was predeceased by: his sister Julie Reece (Robert); his granddaughter Ashley; his parents, Martin Schoenung and Frances Schoenung; and his brothers, Stanley, Martin, Raymond, Hubert, John, Thomas and Jerome Schoenung.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Schoenung; his children, Sheila McAfee, Douglas Hicks, Daniel Hicks (Terra), David Hicks (Michelle) and Denis Hicks (Karen); his stepchildren, Melissa Roe (Ron), Michael Gadd and Amanda Betit (Jason); his grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Amber, Luke, Tasha, Douglas, Kayla, Daniel, Kimberly, Tabitha, Kelsy, Tyler, Sarah, Toni, Stacy, Denis, Drew, Brett, Hunter, Mitch, Brandon, Lauren and Zachery; and his sister-in-law Sharon Totten (Dan). He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.
