He was predeceased by: his mother Florence Stockman (Hummel); his stepfather Harry Stockman; his father William Schmidt; his stepmother Leatrice Schmidt; his brother Kenneth Schmidt; and his father-in-law Clifford Wolfe.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Schmidt (Wolfe); his children, Carrie Wright (Mike), Alicia Kaeppner and Tom Schmidt Jr. (Nicole); his grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Aidan, Manye, Mia, Abe and Gracie; his brothers, Tim Schmidt (Heather) and John Schmidt; his mother-in-law Mary Wolfe; his siblings-in-law, Shellie Parker (Jerry) and Mike Wolfe; and his close friend Jeff Reis of Sandusky. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
