He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Stover and Bertha Stover (Mays); his son Jesse Stover; his granddaughter Heather Christian; and his siblings, Ernest Stover, Connie Persinger, Jerolene Wolf and Leo Stover.

He is survived by: his wife Dixie Briggs; his children, Pamela Staats (Bill), Rhonda Grinnell (Scott) and John Stover; his grandchildren, Crystal Christian, Holly Glover (Rick), George Walker and Jessie Stover, Jr.; and his siblings, Frank Stover of Green Camp, Helen Dyer of Green Camp, Mildred Johnson of Green Camp, Mervin Stover of Green Camp, Annie Hinton, Marion and Mike Stover (Jennifer). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
