He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Piatt and Dora Vess Piatt; his wife Vivian Cline Piatt; his brothers, Denzil and Eddie Piatt; and his stepson Bruce Marshall.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Armstrong (Gary) of Sycamore Valley, Melissa Lanchman (Robert) of Millersburg, Ohio, Jeff Marshall (Carol) of Sycamore Valley and Doug Piatt (Lori Roser) of Marietta, Ohio; his brothers, Denver Piatt of Woodsfield and Ronald Piatt of Ravenna, Ohio; his grandchildren, Eric Marshall (Emma), Tiffany Howard, Whitney Marshall, Hannah Piatt, Alyxandria Morris, Amber West (Rusty) and Nicole Hesson (Brian); and his great grandchildren, Halle Jo Simmons, Emersyn Howard, Lainie Russ, Casey Russ, Shelby Hesson, Sophia, Cecelia and Isabella Marshall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
