He was predeceased by: his father David McElwain; his daughter Tina Gayle McElwain; his stepmother Lucy McElwain; and his siblings, Gale McElwain, Nina Eck and David McElwain.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline McElwain of Gratis Township; his daughter Julie Webb (Ronnie) of Gratis Township; his granddaughter Taylor Daley of Gratis Township; and his great grandchildren, Thaddeus "Bubby" Brown, Jr. and Grayson Brown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
