Charles O. Garrison Obituary

Age 70, of Gratis, peacefully went Home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, Monday, April 13, 2020.

He was born November 1, 1949 in Hamilton, to the late Charles O. and Lillian (Newton) Garrison.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his best friend and loving companion, Sassy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley Garrison; children, Denise (Roger) Miller, Cindy (Boyd) Carr, Jinne (Chris Carpenter) Byers, and Michael (Deanna) Garrison; grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Caleb Miller, Amber Mackenzie Miller, Brooke Carr, Nick Carr, Charlie Byers, Dale Byers, Lilly Byers, Hayden "Frito" Byers, Austin Garrison, Aubrey Garrison, and Micah Garrison; and loving neighbors, Ryan and Jami Poynter.

Chuck was a proud, patriotic veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam, and retired from AK Steel as a millwright after 36 years of service. He considered himself a jack of all trades but a master of none, who enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, and tinkering on anything that needed fixed. When he wasn't busy, Chuck could be found fishing or hunting.
