He was predeceased by: his father Walter C. Chaney; his sister Marjorie Chaney; and his parents-in-law, Harry and Iva Gander. He is survived by: his wife LaVonne Chaney (Gander); his children, Wally Chaney (Alma) and Leslie Shea (Steve); and his grandchildren, Matt (Mikayla), Katelyn (Michael), Carlos and Andrea. He is also survived by his family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vertical 196, The Look Up Center, Youth Missions at Centenary U.M. Church, or Hospice of Central Ohio.
