He was predeceased by: his father Mark Smith; his former wife Norma Hoy; his wife Judy Walters; his close friend Norma Swan Smallwood; his stepson Richard Smith; and his siblings, George Franklin, Dana, Clifford, Don, Maurice, Harold, Pearl Price, Marie Weekley, Monabelle Abel, Eileen Hawkins, Doris Brown and Betty Madinger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Smith of Granville and Lori Mellinger of Colorado; and his sister Margaret McMullen of Kansas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
