He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Hays and Rosa Hays (Vanderpool); his wife Wilma; and his sisters, Edith, Amy and Shirley.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Zachariah (Greg), Ruth Ann Johnson (Bill), Sherry Nabil and Steve (Cindy); and his brothers, Adam Jr. and Charlie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
