She was predeceased by: her husband Edgar "Jack" Handel; her grandson Christopher Handel; and her siblings, Edward McHenry, Donald McHenry, Stanley McHenry Jr. and Wanda Gleim.

She is survived by: her son Kevin Handel (Jill); her grandsons, Eric and Evan; and her brother Robert McHenry.
